Needing to implement AutoCAD Civil 3D on a large-scale within their civil and surveying departments, David Evans & Associates, Inc. chose Eagle Point Task Navigator for Civil 3D as their implementation solution. In addition, they were interested in using Task Navigator for Civil 3D to create consistency within their offices and deploying workflows electronically.
According to Jason Ferrell, Civil Engineer Technician and Civil 3D user in the Phoenix office of David Evans & Associates, Inc., the company sees Eagle Point’s Task Navigator for Civil 3D being beneficial to users on several levels. "First and foremost," he explains, "it provides users with a simple and efficient interface, the content of which is updated over the network as changes are made to the various workflows. This guarantees that everyone is always looking at the latest processes that have been implemented. This also means that we need not wait for all department workflow procedures to be completed before distributing electronic documentation."
"Second," Mr. Ferrell continues, "the Task Navigator can function as either a step-by-step guide for someone doing a task for the first time, or as a simple reference for an experienced user wanting to make sure they didn't miss a step somewhere. A large part of how we use Civil 3D is dependant upon the needs of the other departments working on the project. By having the procedures published in a clear and concise manner such as the Task Navigator, we can ensure that we take full advantage of the dynamic linking capabilities that Civil 3D allows."
