Brookfield, Wis. - R.A. Smith National (formerly R.A. Smith & Associates and its National Survey & Engineering Division) - civil engineering, planning, surveying, landscape architecture, GIS and 3D visualization consultants - Brookfield, Wis., provided pro bono surveying services, including a plat of survey and construction staking, for the Wisconsin Trend Home, a philanthropic undertaking of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) Foundation and members of Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA).

The purpose of the Wisconsin Trend Home project is to build an environmentally sensitive home with the technologies and features that should be prevalent in a home in the year 2020. The Wisconsin Trend Home is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Construction will be completed the first week of August. A donor preview night is scheduled for Friday, August 8. The home will be open to the public beginning Saturday, August 16.

The WBA Foundation will use the home to educate builders and the public throughout Wisconsin on the core elements that are included in this home. Some of the unique features include the first residential application in Wisconsin of a gray water reuse system; a rainwater catchment system; solar hot water system; and more.
