Dream home trouble

When a real estate agent sells the wrong vacant lot, the 5,300-square-foot dream home built for a family of nine becomes a nightmare. Is the homeowner, the realtor, the builder or the original surveyor to blame?

For about 10 months, Andy Jabsen and Kindell Mills walked on land where they dreamed of raising their children.
 
They cleared brush off the 5-acre lot and watched their dream take shape.
 
The 5,300-square-foot home is a good fit for their family of nine – with its six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a two-car garage and a rooftop deck.
 
But the family has a big problem. The home isn't on their property, and now they have nowhere to live.
 
"The house is built on the property that we thought we were buying," Jabsen said Tuesday. "We ended up buying the property next to it."
