Suppose, you've found a giant old Post Oak tree which may fit the original surveyors 1821 calls for a Post Oak bearing tree on line. The original surveyor claims to have marked the tree on the east and west with the appropriate land lot numbers. The tree shows no sign of ancient scars (after 187 years' I'd expect the tree to be completely healed). What technology exists to "look inside" the tree, short of cutting large chunks out of it?
I'm thinking x-ray, sonogram, radar, MRI, etc…
