I can tell all young guns from 40 years expereince that every time U get that "Lazy feeling" it's a Monty that if U do not go the extra yard you will go down!

It is a trap that the inexperienced make as they improve their techniques and ability to measure. Becoming smugly over confident because "the last check was a waste of time." So almost with a disdaining air of arrogance begin to cut corners by excluding rigorous checks because "I am always right".

If there is one piece of advice that I can pass on to field workers is that you can never afford to cut corners when surveying in the field as it always comes back later to bite you hard.

Having said that we all learn the hard way.
