autocad trim problem

Posted By robert bills on 10/30/2008 at 5:10 PM

I'm editing a drawing in ACAD/DCA Release 10 (Dos)...yes, I have C3D and LDD but I like the old stuff...

anyway, I draw a circle for a cul-de-sac, then draw two lot lines almost intersecting the circle. I use extend command to make lines hit circle (I thought!).

I then hit trim command, picked the two lot lines as trim entities, then picked the circle to cut out the portion between the two lot lines.

DAMN...the command line says that the two lines do not intersect the circle....

I then zoom waaaaayyyy in and see that they are separated by about 0.001 inches...(I drew a line 0.01 feet long and it was about 100 times the length of the danged gap from line to circle...

I have never had this happen before..What is making the extend command stop one RCH from the circle?

I also tried connecting the circle to the lines in a polyline...no go...

I then drew a line through a circle and then trimmed off the inside chord...no problem....so the extend command and trim command intersecting the circle are the issue......bob
