Mark Bittner, Fargo City Engineer states, “Merrick’s work for us dates back to 1995 and we currently update our geospatial data every three years. The City of Fargo is again the lead contracting agency for this entire update project, ensuring that all involved jurisdiction’s geospatial needs are met.”
The data will continue to be used for a variety of geographic information system applications across all of the government entities including highway and street maintenance projects, development planning, and floodplain mapping. A unique study will examine each building by its location and elevation to determine the financial cost/benefit of the flood mapping.
