Pictometry International takes delivery of ALTM Gemini
Toronto, Canada – Optech Incorporated, a manufacturer of advanced lidar survey instruments, announced today that Pictometry International Corporation has taken delivery of its first ALTM Gemini system.
After an extensive evaluation of available airborne lidar systems offered on the market, Pictometry decided to select Optech’s ALTM Gemini system. The Gemini is recognized as the highest performance airborne lidar system available today, offering capabilities such as uniform scan patterns, a standard pulsed laser repetition rate of up to 167 kHz, data collection with 12-bit dynamic range and up to 4 return intensities per measurement. With this key performance and the fact that Optech has delivered over 100 systems so far, Optech was identified as Pictometry’s partner of choice.
“We are delighted that Pictometry has chosen Optech as their lidar system supplier,” says Brent Gelhar, Optech’s Vice President, Sales and Product Strategy. “Pictometry has a core of talented engineers and technicians developing unique solutions for remote sensing which is very compatible with our efforts. As the world leader in airborne lidar technology, we look forward to working with Pictometry and their industry leading oblique camera program. The combination of both systems working together will certainly enhance their product offering.”
Charles Mondello, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Pictometry added, “The ALTM Gemini system allows us to capture very high quality content supporting the growing needs of our clients. Lidar combined with our traditional products enables clients to extend their uses of visual information systems.”
