Applanix Launches LANDMark Marine Mobile Mapping Solution
LONDON, ENGLAND – OCEANOLOGY INTERNATIONAL 2008 – Applanix introduced today its LANDMark Marine mobile mapping solution, one of the industry’s first videogrammetry and LIDAR imaging system for surface mapping suitable for operation on a marine vessel.
LANDMark Marine is a turn-key, off-the-shelf asset mapping and video log solution with a full suite of software for maximizing the value of surface image data. Designed to be modular, scalable and flexible, the solution delivers unparalleled data acquisition and processing capabilities, and can provide Geographic Information System (GIS) professionals with essential data for port and harbour asset inventory, coastal zone management, and marine hazard mapping.
The LANDMark Marine hardware configuration includes POS MV, video cameras, data acquisition units and a 2-D scanning laser as well as rack mounted industrial computers. The package also includes processing software, image viewing and feature extraction capability, and automated feature detection. The LANDMark mapping solution can be operated with a single camera, six or more cameras, or a combination of cameras and laser systems. LANDMark Marine has been designed to give users maximum flexibility when integrating with other equipment.
