Canon invite Colortrac to exhibit SmartLF high definition scanners at drupa 2008
Colortrac Ltd, the leading innovator in large format color scanning and document capture, has been invited by Canon Europe to demonstrate their latest high definition SmartLF product range running Colortrac ScanWorks and CopySmart software at drupa 2008.
Drupa is the world's leading printing and publishing industry trade fair. Visitors to drupa 2008 can see Colortrac's wide format color scanners and scan / copy software at work with Canon's new range of imagePROGRAF (iPF) large format inkjet printers on Canon's stand in Hall 8a, Stand B46. (drupa 2008, Dusseldorf Fairgrounds, 29th May - 11th June 2008.)
Canon Europe and Colortrac have had a close marketing partnership since 2000. The partnership has grown in importance for both parties over the past 4 years as each executed highly competitive product strategies. Colortrac has revolutionized the large format scanner market with the price and performance of the SmartLF range while Canon's imagePROGRAF LFP products are now recognized as leading contenders by anyone seriously considering the purchase of a professional quality large format printer.
Colortrac is the only wide format scanner manufacturer to use both of the two main optical imaging technologies, CCD (charge coupled device) suitable for color graphics and artwork, and CIS (contact image sensor) suitable for monochrome and color technical imaging. This approach fits perfectly with the Canon iPF 8000s and iPF 710 printers that target these respective markets also.
Importantly, a Canon printer and a Colortrac scanner can be combined into a multi-function print (mfp) system. Colortrac will demonstrate the mfp benefits of the SmartLF scanners' high color accuracy and sharpness in conjunction with the exceptional productivity of Canon's iPF printers whose color quality sets new standards in the wide format printer market.
Together, Colortrac and Canon have had a huge impact on the wide format scanning and printing market. This is underlined by Canon's invitation to Colortrac to exhibit alongside them at drupa 2008.
About Colortrac SmartLF High Definition large format scanners
SmartLF large format scanners are ideal for the widest range of different document types, from maps, AEC drawings and blueprints to color and monochrome photographs, artwork and graphic designs. Because Colortrac produce SmartLF scanners using both CIS and CCD technology, there isn't a single wide format scanning application that they do not have a dedicated scanning solution for.
The SmartLF Cx 40 range of CIS large format scanners offers high speed image capture for technical drawings and maps at an unbeatable price, producing crisp sharp images every time. With 600dpi optical resolution, images of up to 40" in width and unique real-time image processing scanning software, SmartLF scanners offer AEC, CAD and GIS users unrivalled price and performance benefits.
The SmartLF Gx 25 / 42 range of wide format CCD scanners capture images at 1200dpi optical resolution, the highest in the wide format scanning industry. The wide color gamut and high dynamic range of the SmartLF Gx series provide vibrant images suitable for professional quality reprographics work. SmartLF GxT (Thick media) versions with a motorized thick media capability of up to 0.8" (20mm) allow these large format scanners to be used by professional service providers, copy shops, etc.
All SmartLF scanners are available in monochrome, color and express color models. SmartLF scanners are the only scanners that are user upgradable from monochrome to color on-site by email license key. Buyers can start with monochrome and upgrade to color later.
Colortrac's optional Universal Repro Stand (URS) combines any Colortrac SmartLF and Canon iPF printer into one space-saving footprint. The URS has telescopic legs that allow the scanner to be positioned over the printer up to a height of 49" or 125cm with space for an optional PC / keyboard rack to one side. Colortrac were the first scanner manufacturer to supply this wide format innovation. It has proven popular with both CAD and graphics professionals wanting one compact, productive workstation.
Colortrac's CopySmart scan and copying software includes fast, dedicated drivers for Canon imagePROGRAF printers. CopySmart's easy-to-use interface effectively links any SmartLF Cx 40, Gx 25/42 or GxT 25/42 large format scanner with Canon's popular imagePROGRAF wide format printer to create a fast digital, multi-function, large format scan, print and copy system.
