Schneider’s Beacon Puts Marshall County’s GIS Online

Indianapolis, Indiana (January 21, 2008) – The Marshall County Technology Committee and the County Commissioners have successfully migrated their old GIS web portal to The Schneider Corporation’s beacon™ Web Portal.

The beacon™ Web Portal, provided by The Schneider Corporation, for Marshall County has been released to the public to provide access to property information, aerial photography and taxing data online will save the community time and money. With 24 hour, 7 day a week access, the public no longer has to work their schedules around the courthouse hours.

The beacon™ portal is integrated with Marshall County’s existing GIS, tax administration and real estate databases. Marshall County’s beacon™ portal features include important property taxation and assessment information, with detailed information mapping and search capabilities. Organizations using beacon have found it significantly lowers counter traffic, while greatly improving customer service between them and their constituents.

Because all website set-up, development, hosting, and maintenance tasks are handled by Schneider, there was no need for Marshall County to purchase additional equipment. beacon™ has been designed with a component-based architecture which allows for rapid deployment.
