Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging announced that Data Design is now an authorized distributor of Leica Geosystems’ solutions to customers in southern Africa.

Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging Expands Channel with Data Design
Norcross, Georgia, USA - Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging today announced that Data Design is now an authorized distributor of Leica Geosystems’ solutions to customers in southern Africa.
Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, Data Design specializes in reselling a broad range of geospatial solutions, instruments and services, including those of IKONOS®, OrbView, RadarSat and Aster. Effective January 1, 2008, Data Design now also handles Leica Geosystems’ entire product portfolio.
“Data Design has a thorough understanding of southern Africa’s geospatial information needs,” said Kaushik Chakraborty, Vice President, Africa, Middle East and India, Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging. “By partnering with Data Design, Leica Geosystems is empowered to more efficiently deliver its entire product portfolio, including the technologies and products recently acquired from Acquis, ER Mapper and IONIC, and those combining technologies implementing Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).”
“We are excited to be an authorized distributor for Leica Geosystems,” said Lizzell Boshoff, International Business Manager, Data Design. “Enhancing our existing expertise, this partnership increases our geospatial technology offerings, equipping Data Design to completely meet customer needs in southern Africa.”
Data Design will provide local sales and support, including technical support, individual training, software customization and project consulting for Leica Geosystems’ customers in southern Africa, Uganda, Nigeria, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar.
