New Sustainable Facility Magazine To Launch Oct. 15

Sustainable Facility, a new publication from the editors and publishers of Environmental Design + Construction (ED+C) and Sustainable Home magazines, will debut in October to more than 30,000 BPA-audited facility and energy management subscribers. The magazine will publish twice in 2007 with editorial content written for professionals overseeing commercial, institutional, industrial and government facilities.

“We’re excited to expand the trusted resources of ED+C and BNP Media to launch Sustainable Facility,” said Liz Obloy, publisher. “This publication, combined with its Website and e-newsletter, will meet the information needs of today’s facility managers, building owners/developers, and energy and power management professionals better than any other in the market.”

ED+C’s award-winning editorial team of Michelle Hucal, LEED AP, and Joseph H. Mayton III will produce Sustainable Facility. Editorial content will include all phases of commercial resource conservation unique to the “green” facility community:

  • Alternative energy
  • Building automation efficiency
  • Sustainable design/build techniques for interiors and envelopes
  • Water conservation techniques
  • Green cleaning and maintenance
  • Indoor air quality
  • Cool roofing
  • Green-focused repair/replace/remodeling
  • Daylighting
  • Energy conservation
  • Life cycle analysis
Sustainable Facility will serve as an important industry voice across the myriad avenues of commercial resource conservation and facility management,” said Joseph H. Mayton III, editor. “Through strong, tailored editorial and dedicated columnists, Sustainable Facility will champion mainstreaming the greening of operating practices and provide energy and power management professionals with the information necessary for maintaining their facilities in more efficient and environmentally friendly ways.” Sustainable Facility’s initial circulation includes 30,000+ BPA-audited subscribers. This high-quality circulation base was developed and cultivated by Energy & Power Management magazine, a BNP Media publication shifting focus. Sustainable Facility will absorb the energy conservation and building automation components of Energy & Power Management.

Sustainable Facility’s first issue will debut at the IFMA Show, October 24-26 in New Orleans and at the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, November 7-9 in Chicago. The magazine’s second issue, the “Sustainable Facility Green Book,” will publish in December and feature expansive buyers guide/product directory content. Ad closing for the October issue is September 5th.

Sustainable Facility will publish seven times in 2008.
