Topcon Unveils Powerful, Long-range Total Station Series

LIVERMORE, CA -- The most demanding field applications for surveyors just became easier. Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) unveiled the industry’s most powerful total station series – the GPT-7500 and the GTS-750 – which features rugged, small, light units with increased performance at the same price as older models.

The total stations have a 400MHz Intel processor running Windows CE and an unprecedented 2000-meter non-prism range (GPT-7500). Jason Killpack, TPS senior product marketing manager, said, “No other instrument can come close to the range of the GPT-7500. It can operate efficiently and effectively at 2,000 meters (6,562 feet), which is up to four times that of competing models.”

The instruments are available in 1”, 3” or 5” accuracy models; the 1” and 3” versions have dual displays, with the 5” versions sporting a single display.

Features of the series include:

-- TopSURV onboard software
-- Large, backlit keypad, with bright, color LCD touch-screen
-- CF card, USB Type A and USB mini-slots delivers new storage and transfer options
-- Increased battery capacity and operating time
-- Eight percent smaller than previous models.
