MoreLAUREL MD – October 11, 2007 – National engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O), announces the acquisition of SCR Surveying & Mapping, Inc., a Florida-based surveying firm. SCR has a 26-year history of land surveying and mapping services in Northwest Florida. G&O has had a presence throughout Florida for many years in support of major highway projects, development, water resources and environmental initiatives, and hazard mitigation and security assessment and planning.
G&O Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John J. Healey, Ph.D., P.E., said, “As a firm that has supported Florida’s growth and development, G&O has a stake in the successful expansion of this region. Founded in 1981, SCR Surveying and Mapping, Inc. is a 14-person firm that provides land surveying and mapping services. Skipper Rutherford, PLS, founder of SCR said, “We feel that this is the right choice for SCR. With our collective competencies, the new G&O Panama City office is well-positioned to offer expanded services to our existing and future clients.” Mr. Rutherford will remain with the company and serve as the branch manager, and the existing SCR staff will carry on normal operations and client service in the Panama City office.
