Langbein


Rocky Mountain Transit and Laser, Sandy, Utah, and Transit Instruments, Murray, Utah, formed a partnership to sell Topcon Positioning Systems survey and construction products. For the past three years, Rocky Mountain has sold Topcon machine control construction products and now sells Topcon survey instruments with Transit Instruments; Transit Instruments, a former Topcon dealer, now sells the entire Topcon product line. The two dealers have more than 60 years of experience in the positioning business.

Scott Langbein rejoined Topcon Positioning Systems, Livermore, Calif., as product marketing manager for optical, scanning and imaging products. Langbein has worked in the positioning technology business for more than 10 years, and began his Topcon career in 1997 as a salesman for B.L. Makepeace in Boston, a Topcon dealer. In 2000, he joined Topcon as the northeast regional sales manager before rejoining Makepeace.

Perkins

Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging, Norcross, Ga., appointed Guy Perkins as vice president, Global Services. Perkins is the former CEO of the recently acquired Earth Resource Mapping LTD. (ER Mapper) by Leica Geosystems. With more than 20 years of experience, Perkins has extensive knowledge in the geospatial industry. In his new role, he assists in the development of integrating services for vertical markets and the overall deployment of enterprise solutions.

Lamp, Rynearson & Associates Inc., Omaha, Neb., acquired Pickett Engineering, Greeley, Colo. Pickett Engineering is now known as Pickett Engineering, A Lamp Rynearson Partner. Expanded services include survey, community design, planning, municipal infrastructure, construction administration, transportation, erosion control monitoring and traffic engineering.

MultiVision USA, Orlando, Fla., relocated its headquarters. The new headquarters is home to MultiVision USA marketing, sales and business development support personnel, and is located at 6925 Lake Ellenor Dr., Suite 103, Orlando, FL 32809.

Anthony

Trimble, Sunnyvale, Calif., elected Ulf J. Johansson as chairman and Nickolas W. Vande Steeg as vice chairman of its board. The announcement comes after the July death of chairman Robert S. Cooper, who served on Trimble’s board since 1989. Johansson has served as a director on Trimble’s board since 1999 and Vande Steeg has served as a director since 2003.

Definiens, Morristown, N.J., appointed Greg Calaman as vice president of its operations in North America. Calaman has been a member of the Definiens management team since April 2006.

The ASPRS Foundation, Bethesda, Md., appointed Dr. Tina Cary from Cary and Associates, Longmont, Colo., and Dr. Clifford Greve from SAIC, Farnham, Va., to its board of trustees. Bryan J. Logan from Fugro-EarthData International Inc., Frederick, Md., was also reappointed for another term. The board now consists of six trustees.

DRMP, Panama City Beach, Fla., appointed Steven Kieffer, PSM, as the new surveying and mapping department manager. Kieffer brings 25 years of experience to the firm. His new responsibilities include project management leadership, oversight of staff, and client relations for current and future surveying and mapping projects produced out of the Panama City Beach office.

Michael Anthony, III, PLS, joined Skelly and Loy Inc., Harrisburg, Pa., as land surveyor of its Technical Services Group. Anthony has more than 22 years of land development experience.

Septentrio, Lueven, Belgium, opened a business development office in Los Angeles, Calif., and welcomed J. Christopher Litton as business development manager to run North American operations. Litton joins Septentrio with more than 12 years of experience in the satellite navigation industry. He is responsible for establishing new OEM sales, developing a nationwide value-added reseller network and increasing awareness of Septentrio’s GNSS product solutions in the U.S. market.

V3 Companies of Arizona Ltd., Phoenix, added Whitney Smelser, RLS, to its team as project manager in the Survey Division, and Brent Steffenhagen, PE, to its team as project manager in the Land Development Division. Smelser brings more than 15 years of professional experience as a cadastral surveyor with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a professional witness in civil cases, and a consultant for public and private entities. Steffenhagen brings more than seven years of professional experience in the design of commercial land development projects, including feasibility studies and site investigations, developing detailed designs, providing technical support throughout the permit process and construction administration.
