Golden Software Inc. upgraded its MapViewer thematic mapping package with more than 100 new features. Among the new features is the ability to create customizable contour and vector maps. Users can specify the fill and line styles, and the interval and label settings for the contour map. In addition, users can control the frequency, length, color method, arrow style, and line and fill styles for the vector map. Two other powerful upgrades to MapViewer are the ability to plot points on a map from a simple data file of U.S. city and state names and the ability to create insets on a page. MapViewer imports and exports data files in all popular formats and can be integrated with any ActiveX Automation-compatible software. (Golden Software Inc., Golden, Colo.)
