SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 10, 2006 - Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the keynote speakers for its International User Conference-Trimble Dimensions 2006. The conference, which will be held November 6-8 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, focuses on applying technology to the needs faced daily by surveying, construction, and civil engineering professionals.

The connected site-changing the way work is done.

Steven W. Berglund, president and CEO of Trimble, will discuss his vision of the connected site-where the application of advanced positioning and information technology plays a pivotal role in improving accuracy and productivity in all phases of the construction process from initial survey, to planning and design, through site preparation and into the building phase. Using technology-enabled tools, engineers, surveyors and construction professionals can change the face of their industries and how work is done.

Looking at the past to achieve excellence in the future.

Dava Sobel, a former New York Times Science Reporter, is the author of three books with significant importance to the world of positioning science and satellite navigation today-Longitude, Galileo's Daughter and The Planets. Ms. Sobel's presentation will tie the past with our spirit of the future. This keynote is a must see event for all who believe we can still learn from our forefathers and their pursuit of achievement and excellence.

Daniel Burrus, founder and CEO of Burrus Research Associates, will offer insights into the present and future opportunities made possible by rapid advances in technology. Knowing what these tools are, and how to creatively apply them, is vital to maintaining a competitive edge.

Dr. Jill Tarter, director of the Center for SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Research at the SETI Institute, was the real-life model for Jodie Foster's character in the movie Contact based on Carl Sagan's book. Dr. Tarter will take an in-depth look at the SETI Institute's attempts to find habitable worlds by finding evidence of the inhabitants' technology using the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) -and the role Trimble GPS plays in the endeavor.

The theme of Trimble Dimensions 2006-Building Your Connected Site-emphasizes how process integration and intelligent positioning technologies enable surveying, engineering and construction professionals to reduce rework, utilize assets more efficiently, accelerate design updates as well as improve the bidding, planning and billing cycles. With more than 125 sessions and 10 specialty tracks planned, the conference will focus on increasing productivity in the field and in the office.
