(Old Town, Maine-30 June 2008) The Operational Services Division (OSD) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has awarded James W. Sewall Company an Information Technology Services (ITS33)--Solutions Providers contract for the development, customization, selection, and implementation of geographic information systems (GIS). Under the terms of this procurement, Sewall is pre-qualified to provide a range of GIS services, including data conversion and maintenance, database design and application development, software and systems integration, and web services to government agencies, municipalities, and other public institutions within the Commonwealth. The two-year contract, effective 1 July 2008, allows statewide entities to contract Sewall directly without utilizing the public bid process.

Sewall is one of eight GIS vendors awarded the contract based on project experience, staff expertise and capacity, proven performance across platforms, and best value. The ITS33 contract is the primary statewide contract used by Commonwealth agencies for the procurement of GIS services.
