This month's turning points include new hires, new office openings and promotions.

Spot Image’s Board of Directors, Toulouse, France, appointed Jean-Marc Nasr as CEO. Nasr has 15 years of experience in the aerial and satellite imagery business.

Also,Spot Image’s Board of Directors appointed Philippe Munier as general manager. Munier will be responsible for Spot Image’s relations with public sector shareholders. He has been the development director at Spot Image since 1992.



Forestry Suppliers Inc. and General Supply Corp., both of Jackson, Miss., announced the merger of their marketing and distribution systems in the professional natural resource markets. Both companies will operate under the Forestry Suppliers name, but General Supply will continue separate operations and focus its efforts on developing and serving complementary markets.



Tripod Data Systems, Corvallis, Ore., appointed William H. Martin as sales and marketing director. He will be responsible for worldwide sales of all the company’s product lines and will coordinate and manage marketing. Martin previously served as marketing product manager for Survey Products at Ashtech Precision Products.



IDELIX Software Inc., Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada, announced the opening of an office in Olympia, Wash., its first United States location.William T. Wallace, director of business development, will head up the new office.



POB magazine an-nounced that Sharon Oselin,/b>, former associate editor, has moved on to pursue her education.Nicole Tuttle was named as the new associate editor. Tuttle brings several years reporting and writing experience in technical arenas to her position. She can be reached at tuttlen@bnp.com.



PCI Geomatics, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, announced the appointment of Ian Suttie as the company’s new CEO. Suttie was formerly the president and CEO of Waterloo Maple Inc., a supplier of analytical software, and was president of SST, a Waterloo-based global supplier of industrial communications equipment. He has 14 years of experience in sales, marketing and executive management.



Woolpert LLP, Indianapolis, Ind., appointed four new employees for its GIS/IT Services. John Hannel is the new project manager. Jeremy Jobe is the new phase/task manager. Jason Howe and Steven Sushka are the new GIS analysts.

G. Michael Ritchie, PE, LS, CP, became the 11th president of the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS). Ritchie is the president of Photo Science Inc., Lexington, Ky.



HJW GeoSpatial Inc., Oakland, Calif., appointed Joanna Marsolek as project manager. Prior to joining HJW, Marsolek was a GIS specialist for the United States Geological Survey.
