Ruth Spell of California was announced as the grand prize winner in the ERDAS Inc., (Atlanta, Ga.), Web Launch Celebration Contest. She won an HP Pavilion XL756 computer and 17-inch monitor. She also won ERDAS MapSheets Express, a mapping and presentation software package that contains geographic and demographic information. MapSheets aids in incorporating maps and images into reports, presentations and worksheets.

Christopher Kennedy of Virginia was the second-place winner. He received a Compaq iPAQ H3635 Pocket PC.

Spell and Kennedy were among those who automatically qualified in the contest by registering at ERDAS Central (www.erdas.com) from April through June 2001. The contest was held to introduce ERDAS Inc.'s new website. The new website offers features such as the Solutions section, which provides users with answers to software questions and a list of services offered by ERDAS. Other features include TutorOnline, a service to provide training to customers through the web; the ERDAS Services Center, which provides a schedule of ERDAS training courses; and product walk-throughs, which provides more information about ERDAS' products.
