The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, Hindu Kush-Himalayan mountain range, (ICIMOD) won the President's Award at the 2001 ESRI User Conference. ESRI President Jack Dangermond selected ICIMOD and its partners in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region to recognize the work, research and dedication to GIS education they have displayed in the last decade. ICIMOD supports the expansion of GIS utilization within itself, in 45 other GIS institutions and in active partners in seven countries.
