The story called “Five Million Steps to Katahdin” follows the journey of “Sneetch” hiking from Georgia to Maine and is updated frequently. The virtual journey includes photographs taken on the Trail, journal entries and interactive maps on the website.

Sneetch began her trek in late winter at Springer Mountain, Ga., after months of planning and physical preparation. Her journey will end this fall at Mount Katahdin, the highest point in Maine, located in Baxter State Park. The journey is about 2,100 miles total or about five million steps.
