On January 9th at 6:23 P.M., Mark Eugene Deal passed away at his home in Edmond after his year long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by friends and family and went peacefully.

On behalf of the staff at POB, especially Diana Brown, Publisher, and Lieca Brown, Editor, I'd like to express our deep sorrow at the passing of Mark Deal. We all got to know Mark over the past year or two, and we all came to admire his wisdom, his droll wit, and his unbounded enthusiasm, even in the face of the bad news he kept getting from his doctors.
