Papers needed for 2003 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference in Houston, Texas.

The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) has issued a call for papers for its 12th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference, scheduled for September 29-October 1, 2003, in Houston, Texas. The event, with the theme A Toolbox for System Integrity, will focus on how geospatial information technologies can investigate integrity, improve business processes, manage risk and increase efficiency. The conference is devoted exclusively to the applications of GIS technology for the upstream and downstream aspects of the industry, including exploration and production, land/lease, pipeline, gathering, retail, refining and marketing.

Paper abstracts should be 200 words in length and include the intended audience rank (novice, intermediate, advanced or all audiences) and three learning objectives summarizing what participants will gain from the presentation. Abstracts may be submitted via GITA’s online submission form at http://www.gita.org/events/oil_gas/03/send_abstract.html, or E-mailed as an attachment to education@gita.org. The abstract deadline is May 16, 2003. Complete information on the call for papers process, including a sample format, may be obtained from the GITA website at www.gita.org. Other questions may be directed to Franc Flores, GITA’s education manager at 303/337-0513.
