Autodesk introduces Autodesk Civil Series

The Autodesk Civil Series is a software bundle of integrated civil design applications that can maintain data integrity and allows users to collaborate with colleagues across the entire design process. The Autodesk Civil Series has tools to enable users to handle the tasks they encounter in subdivision, site, road, and sewer and drainage design projects. It enables users to pass survey data to and from the field, as well as integrate paper-based drawings and raster imagery, into the broader design process. The Autodesk Civil Series is comprised of Autodesk Land Desktop 3, Autodesk Civil Design 3, Autodesk Survey 3, and the new Autodesk Raster Design.

Also, Autodesk announced Autodesk Raster Design (previously named Autodesk CAD Overlay). Autodesk Raster Design integrates legacy and paper-based drawings and photos (aerial/satellite imagery) into the digital design process and keeps the data in a digital format throughout the workflow. New features in Autodesk Raster Design include optical character recognition (OCR), color palette controls, tonal adjustments and rubber sheeting, helping users eliminate the need to digitally re-create drawings from scratch.
