Organization Changes At Design Consultants Inc. 12.4.03

Engineering, planning and surveying firm in Somerville, Mass., adds prominent people to prominent positions.

Everett J. Chandler, PLS, is the new Director of the Survey Department for Design Consultants Inc. (DCI), an engineering, planning and surveying firm located in Somerville, Mass.

Chandler is a 10-year veteran of the Eastern Massachusetts surveying scene. He is the editor of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers (MALSCE) Newsletter, and is president and instructor at the Massachusetts School of Survey. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono.

DCI also recently announced a series of organization changes.

Peter Gammie, P.E., who joined DCI in 2002, has assumed the position of director of engineering. In his 21 years of experience, Gammie has worked on a wide array of projects, including the completion of two major sections of the Central Artery project, the new I-495 interchange in Marlborough, Logan Airport GIS project and Pavement Management program for the City of Somerville. In the private sector he has designed numerous digital telecommunication facilities, residential developments and commercial facilities.

Patrick Reffett, who spent 15 years as a public official leading the planning and community development departments for the cities of Salem, Newburyport and Somerville, heads up DCI's planning group. Since joining DCI in 2001, Reffett has led a number of high-profile projects, most notably the 3.5-mile South Bay Harbor Trail that will connect the Ruggles MBTA Station and the nearby neighborhoods to the Boston Harbor Waterfront at Fan Pier.

Keith Tornifoglio is a senior engineer who joined DCI in 2002. Prior to DCI, Tornifoglio was project manager and lead design engineer for the design of more than 500 telecommunications facilities for major, nationally recognized wireless networks throughout the Northeast.

Design Consultants Inc. was founded in 1961 and incorporated in 1980.
