Leica Introduces New Total Stations for Construction Industry 12.1.03

The TCR400power series surveying total stations have extended reflectorless measurement range. Other series total stations have been upgraded with Version 2 software.

Leica Geosystems of Norcross, Ga., introduced the TCR400power series surveying total stations with extended reflectorless measurement range. In addition, the TCR400 and other TPS400-series total stations have been upgraded with Version 2 software, offering new options and features for increased efficiency and productivity.

The TCR400power series provides reliable, accurate reflectorless measuring at distances to 170 m (560 ft) using a visible red laser beam. Under good light conditions, extended range to 200 m (660 ft) is possible. The narrow bandwidth of the laser beam permits very precise pointing to the target, and is especially useful when measuring to corners or curved surfaces.

The Version 2 software incorporates Leica's innovative "˜Construction' software application, which combines all tasks that are typically executed in construction and building applications into one integrated workflow. Other major new features include an improved method of entering alphanumeric data for faster operation, the capability to use up to five points for orientation computation for higher redundancy and other enhancements.

The TCR400power series instruments are available with a choice of 7", 5" or 3" angular accuracy. All of the systems have a large high-resolution display, standard camcorder batteries for full-day operation, electronic dual-axis compensator, endless drives, laser plummet and serial interface for data transfer to an external PC, PDA or other devices.
