Trimble, Sunnyvale, Calif., introduced TS305 and TS315 from its Spectra Precision Optical line of total station products. TS305 and TS315 offer Direct Reflex, a measuring capability which provides the ability to measure without a prism. The Direct Reflex also allows the operator to measure objects up to 100 meters away. By allowing general contractors to lay out an entire job with one setup, the construction total stations eliminate the need to perform multiple theodolite setups. They also provide the ability to do layout from the building axis by using control hubs, aligning along a building line and completing a 90 degree layout from anywhere on the job site. The construction total stations can also be used for as-built checks once work has been completed.
