Leica Geosystems Introduces New-Generation Automatic Laser 03.19.2003

Leica Geosystems has introduced the new RUGBY 200 horizontal and vertical dual-axis laser for interior and general construction jobs.

"The RUGBY 200 is designed to be the most accurate, versatile and rugged interior laser on the market today," said Doug Plantenga, product manager for lasers, at Leica Geosystems.

Fully automatic in both the horizontal and vertical position, the RUGBY 200 features a bright visible beam with a working range of up to 1,000 ft. (300 m) , plus a plumb beam for 90¿ layout work and a plumb-down feature for setup over a point. It also features adjustable head speeds, scan mode, H.I. elevation alert and an optional full-function remote control. Also available is an optional deluxe carrying case that allows the laser and wall mount bracket to be stored and transported fully assembled.

The RUGBY 200 is ideal for installing ceiling grids, installing and laying out walls, installing raised access floors, transferring points from floor to ceiling, setting window supports, exterior site preparation, checking grade, concrete forming, pad placement, setting foundations and footings.

"The RUGBY 200 is built with the same ergonomic and structural standards as the RUGBY 100 and RUGBY 100LR lasers, both of which have received an enthusiastic response from customers worldwide," said Plantenga. "Like its predecessors, the new RUGBY 200's superior performance and reliability are sure to set the industry standard for interior lasers."

Plantenga noted that Leica Geosystems offers a full two-year warranty on the RUGBY 200, which includes complete coverage of the internal self-leveling system regardless of failure. Should any accident or knockdown occur, all repairs to the internal assembly will be done at no charge.
