Premier Data Services (Premier) and Spatial Data Technologies (SDT) have signed a business partner agreement which will enhance overall product offerings to clients of both companies. Under this agreement, Premier’s PDS Studio, a set of powerful Internet-enabled landware and online mapping software tools, will be combined with SDT’s CartoPac product to bring asset data to the mobile workforce. These newly linked technologies will allow clients to draw from Premier’s suite of products to obtain land information, and then use Spatial Data’s mobile technologies and full range of raster maps and imagery. The effect is to put information where it’s most useful – in the hands of a mobile work force.
The agreement was prompted by the interest of shared customers whose challenges were best solved by uniting the flagship technologies of each company: Premier Data’s PDS Studio, a set of powerful Internet-enabled landware and online mapping software tools combined with the mobility component of SDT’s CartoPac. The resulting product offering will combine accurate mobile mapping, field data capture and data management with open access to the full range of maps and images.
“Each of these technologies is a very viable product on its own,” said SDT President Glenn Vlass. “But together, PDS Studio’s unmatched web delivery of land ownership and vector map data and CartoPac’s strong mobility component are a great marriage of technology.”
According to Richard V. Souders, President & CEO of Premier Data Services, “the linkage of Spatial Data’s mobility component with Premier’s data browsing and mapping capabilities offers an order of magnitude leap in technology while creating numerous synergies that enable a greater breadth of the services for the customers of both organizations.”
Premier Data Services (PDS) is an information technology company that focuses on specialized data management and data mining for governmental and natural resource entities. The company’s expertise is in both tabular and spatial data sets used in specialized, secure legal records management; highly specialized land records management and display; critical client relationship management applications and data integration and security services.
Spatial Data Technologies specializes in mobile mapping technology, data collection solutions, and the integration of data into proprietary software applications. Market-driven products include DataGATE and GeoPresenter in addition to CartoPac.
The agreement calls for both companies to continue their respective legacies of “ease of use” by engineering interfaces to place most of the complex GIS functionality behind the scenes.
