SOKKIA combined its Axis GPS system with the SDR8100 data collector to meet the needs of users who require GIS DGPS systems and a rugged data collection platform. The lightweight SDR8100’s durability meets the needs of many environments and applications, including accident reconstruction and emergency management. SOKKIA’s Axis system integrates a GPS/beacon receiver with an optional pen-based computer software package to accomplish real-time mapping and data collection. Powering the Axis system is a 12-channel GPS receiver with the added feature of an internal, dual-channel beacon receiver. Rugged, compact and lightweight, with enough rechargeable battery life to last an entire workday, the Axis receiver withstands challenging field conditions and achieves 1-5 meter accuracy.
