Arc Second and Accurex Dimensional Measurement Announce Partnership 08.26.2002

Former SMX Laser Tracker team implementing Arc Second's indoor GPS technology.

Arc Second Inc., the leading provider of laser-based 3D-measurement products, announced a strategic partnership with Accurex Measurement Inc. of Moorestown, New Jersey. Accurex was formed in 2002 and is made up of engineers and marketing professionals from laser tracker manufacturer SMX which was acquired in 2002 by Faro Technologies Inc.

Arc Second's president and CEO, Edward Barrientos commented, "The Accurex team is one of the most experienced metrology teams in the world." Barrientos added, "Working with the talented group that made the SMX tracker a success in Aerospace and Automotive industries gives Arc Second a tremendous head-start in making Constellation 3D-I the technology solution of choice for large scale metrology problems in the future.

Bill Mongon, President and CEO of Accurex commented, "While at SMX we witnessed first hand the transition from the industrial theodolite to the Laser Tracker as the standard metrology tool. We are now excited to be part of the next revolution in metrology that will be created by Constellation 3D-I.

The two companies will work closely to offer indoor GPS solutions to a wide range of customers. Current Accurex customers are primarily in the aerospace, automotive and precision machinery industries.
