GIS in the Rockies Offers Online Registration and Abstract Submission 05.24.2002

The Board of Directors for the 15th Annual GIS in the Rockies Conference offers abstract submission and registration online for the first time this year.

The Board of Directors for the 15th Annual GIS in the Rockies Conference offers online abstract submission and secure online registration for the first time this year.

The site is http://www.GISintheRockies.org. Also new this year is a reduced registration fee for presenters.

"We know the GIS community in the Rocky Mountain region uses the Internet routinely, and we felt offering online registration would help us serve them better," said Dave Murray, Chair. Jaymes Pardue, Track Chair, added "Submitting abstracts online is easy for presenters and simplifies our coordination and processing. I look forward to getting a lot of abstracts between now and the June 15th deadline."

About the conference
The Conference will be October 8-10, 2002 at the Plaza at the Mart, a facility at the Denver Merchandise Mart. The program will be structured much like the 2001 conference, the most well-attended GIS in the Rockies to date. Workshops will be on Tuesday; concurrent technical sessions and the exhibition will be on Wednesday and Thursday. The theme is "GIS from Start to Finish."

The five sponsoring societies are the Colorado Section of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), the Rocky Mountain Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA), the Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado (PLSC), and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).
