ACCUPOINT Expands Business By Offering Trimble Products 10.24.2002

Accupoint Inc. based in Anchorage, Alaska has expanded their existing line of Trimble products to include the latest Spectra Precision Lasers for general, interior and pipe construction. In 1997 Accupoint became a Trimble mapping and land survey dealer, adding Trimble machine control systems and marine products in 2000.

Jim Gregory, company president explains, “With the addition of the extensive laser product line, Accupoint is now a full Trimble dealer. “We have the answers for anyone who asks a positioning question–– from the guy hanging sheetrock to the contractor controlling heavy equipment to the company requiring software to map the ocean’s bottom. “These products cover all aspects of construction and surveying as well as the marine industry.” He continues, “I chose the Trimble line based on the company’s leading-edge technology, position in the marketplace, and focus on the future.”

At age 14, Jim got his first job in the business cutting wooden stakes. Since then he has worked in all areas of distribution forming Artic Survey Instruments with his vice president, Otto Staengle in 1986. The company’s name was changed to Accupoint in 1994.

Accupoint is a factory authorized, Trimble repair facility and employs two certified machine control system technicians for on-site installations.

Spectra Precision Lasers from Trimble include the one-person 3D layout tool, LaserStation, as well as a complete line of general construction, interior, and underground pipe lasers, all designed to reduce labor costs and increase efficiencies on the jobsite.

Trimble’s marine survey products greatly simplify both the collection of hydrographic data and the positioning of objects to be placed over the water. To accomplish this, Trimble incorporates both GPS and optical instruments greatly increasing the customer’s productivity.

Trimble’s integrated 3D machine control systems eliminate grade stakes, reduce engineering and material costs dramatically and save contractors thousands of dollars. The surveying products incorporate the latest GPS and optical total station software and technologies to enhance the capabilities and productivity of land surveyors and contractors.
