He joins the National Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Division as a senior ITS analyst.

Jonathan Lawrence has joined PBS&J’s National Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Division as a senior ITS analyst within the advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) practice team.

Lawrence comes to PBS&J from the Crystal Mountain Group, where he served as a principal and conducted a number of consulting and research projects for private sector clients. He authored the groundbreaking telematics industry report, Telematics: Play Ball!, in April 2000, which was the first real-world assessment of opportunities in the telematics market. Telematics is the application of information and telecommunication technologies to provide in-vehicle information and other related services.

At PBS&J, Lawrence will continue to consult to the private sector; conduct proprietary research for clients, drawing on the knowledge base of PBS&J’s engineering staff; and expand the firm’s public and private sector client base.

Lawrence earned his bachelor of arts degree in international studies and holds a master’s degree in international economics and energy, environment, science and technology from The Johns Hopkins University. He is an active member of ITS America and serves on the advisory boards for The Institute for International Research, Eautoworld, and Cellport.
