POB magazine promoted Daniel Murfey to the role of publisher, succeeding Diana K. Brown. Brown was named group publisher. Murfey will continue to fulfill his sales role and increase his administrative duties for the magazine. Also, Emily E. Vass, former associate editor, was named managing editor.

Robert Macomber, PE, PS, president and CEO of Atwell-Hicks Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., was elected senior vice chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Executive Committee. Macomber is serving a two-year term on the 11-member executive committee, which directs ACEC when its national board of directors representing state and regional councils is not in session. Macomber is currently director of the United Bank & Trust-Washtenaw and director/secretary of Saline Community Hospital. He also served as director and president of ACEC/Michigan. Macomber holds a bachelor’s degree in land surveying and an associate’s degree in engineering from Ferris State University.

Advance Precision Products, Knoxville, Tenn., announced that Bill Mowles is responsible for survey sales for eastern Tennessee. He is based in the Knoxville office. As survey sales specialist Mowles assists surveyors and contractors by providing information to them on the benefits of incorporating the latest GPS and optical total station technologies and associated software to enhance their capabilities, productivity and to improve their profits.
