Autodesk and Laser-Scan offer integrated products for smarter solutions.

Since Autodesk's announcement to trial Laser-Scan's Radius Topology in June 2002, experts from the two companies have developed close working relationships to enhance the technical integration of Radius Topology and Autodesk GIS products and to explore joint commercial opportunities.

As members of the Open GIS Consortium (OGC), both Laser-Scan and Autodesk offer open GIS solutions (Autodesk is an OGC Principal Plus Member) and rely on Oracle's latest 9i spatial technologies. Radius Topology is a natural extension that provides users, in an Oracle9i environment, additional data consistency procedures at the creation, update and management level as well as index-based mechanisms for improved query and retrieval of data. Radius Topology has been successfully tested with Autodesk's latest software releases, namely Autodesk Map (2004), Autodesk MapGuide (6.0) and Autodesk Envision (8.0).

Michel Rives, Manager, Sales Development & Strategic Partnerships for Autodesk Europe, Middle-East and Africa says:

"We have received many comments that lead us to believe that Autodesk GIS, in conjunction with Radius Topology, offers a comprehensive, affordable desktop, web-based and mobile mapping package that addresses user needs and values and secures their most precious assets, namely the data and the location-aware information they've created over the years."

Partnerships are key to Laser-Scan's strategy of making its proven geospatial technology available to mainstream IT users. Autodesk and Laser-Scan sales and marketing teams are working closely to identify joint sales opportunities and to develop a framework for integrated sales and marketing activities.

See Radius Topology live in action at Intergeo exhibition and congress, 17-19 September, Hamburg, Germany. Visit Laser-Scan's stand 09D07 in Hall 9EG and see Radius Topology with working Autodesk GIS applications on Autodesk's stand 09U34 in Hall 9OG.
