Cary and Associates announces new market report.

Cary and Associates of Longmont, Colo., announces the availability of a market report, "U.S. Federal Procurement of Geotechnology 2000-2002." The report identifies 117 agencies that have purchased a range of geotechnology products and services from 393 companies. Geotechnology is broadly defined to include a number of related fields, such as data conversion and digitizing, satellite and aerial imagery, environmental management and consulting, GIS consulting and application development, mapping services, and professional engineering services. Total spending exceeds five billion dollars per year.

The 65-page report focuses on the ten top-spending agencies for the years 2000, 2001 and 2002; they account for more than 85% of federal spending in geotechnology. The top ten vendors in six categories are identified for each of those agencies. The list of top ten vendors is dominated by consulting firms, consistent with the finding that spending on services accounts for over 60% of all geotechnology spending every year.

"As with our earlier reports, our goal is to provide practical information that will save our clients significant research time," said company president Tina Cary, Ph.D. "We are pleased to extend our product line of market reports."
