The PEPP award recognizes the recipient's "significant contributions to the growth and development of Professional Engineers in Private Practice and to the public." It is given out at the NSPE's national convention each year. Farquhar is one of the few non-engineers to receive the PEPP award, the committee's highest honor.

"Few if any have made more contributions to risk management and professional liability insurance coverage than Jerry," says former NSPE president Bob Nichols, of the Texas-based architecture and engineering firm Freese & Nichols.

Farquhar, in his capacity as a risk management consulting attorney, serves as executive editor of Schinnerer's AELegal Reporter and provides CNA and Schinnerer with decision support in the areas of professional liability insurance underwriting, policy drafting and revision, and risk management. A nationally recognized speaker, Farquhar has conducted hundreds of seminars before various professional and trade associations on the topic of the improvement of professional practice and the control of risk in project delivery.

He also has been a popular speaker at in-house seminars for select CNA/Schinnerer insureds. "I can always get good attendance when my staff hears his name," says Nichols of Farquhar's visits to Freese & Nichols.

Farquhar has consulted exclusively with Schinnerer for thirty years.
