MoreTrimble introduced two new versions of its 5600 Total Station series the high-precision Trimble 5601 DR Total Station and the Trimble 5601 IR Total Station using an infrared EDM. These latest additions to the Trimble Toolbox of Integrated Surveying solutions enable surveyors to achieve greater distance measurement accuracy in a variety of high-precision and specialty applications.
The High-Precision Trimble 5601 DR Total Station
The new high-precision Trimble 5601 DR Total Station option is unique—delivering an accuracy of +/- (1 mm + 1 ppm) to a single prism up to 5,000 meters away using the same EDM that provides reflectorless distance measurement accurate to ± (3 mm + 2 ppm) up to 70 meters. Its precision makes the 5601 DR Total Station ideal for applications such as tunneling, architecture, bridge building, engineering surveys and stakeout.
“The high-precision Trimble 5601 DR Total Station allows our customers to more accurately position points that could not previously be reached,” said J¿rgen Kliem, division vice president of survey for the Trimble Geomatics and Engineering Division. “This capability makes it an ideal precision-engineering tool for the modern surveyor.”
The Trimble 5601 IR Total Station
With an angular accuracy of one second and control unit flexibility, the Trimble 5601 IR Total Station is a specialized instrument for ultra-high-precision applications such as control work, deformation monitoring, and industrial applications. Its infrared EDM is accurate to +/- (0.8 mm + 1 ppm) up to 50 meters, and to +/- (1 mm + 1 ppm) up to 2,800 meters.
The new DR and IR versions of the Trimble 5600 Total Station series are available now through the Trimble Geomatics and Engineering Division worldwide sales organization.
