Optimal Solutions and Laser-Scan announce a partnership agreement following the implementation of Laser-Scan's Radius Topology product by Optimal Solutions at the Northern Ireland Water Service (NIWS).

Optimal Solutions has been working for NIWS to deliver a fully integrated, corporate solution, based upon Oracle Spatial, which will radically alter the way it plans, manages, operates and develops its extensive assets. This advanced solution will enable NIWS to greatly improve the efficiency and delivery of water supply and sewerage services to the general public. Laser-Scan's Radius Topology, an advanced spatial processing environment, has been seamlessly integrated into the solutions architecture and will enable greater efficiencies in the capture, cleansing and analysis of the network information.

Building upon the experience gained at the project level, this agreement enables the two companies to form a comprehensive framework to effectively exploit commercial opportunities. The partnership will concentrate initially on the UK market, primarily in the utilities sector.

The partnership brings together a range of complementary skills and experience and will deliver added value to customers from both organizations. Optimal Solutions has a wealth of expertise in deploying large-scale spatial solutions in the utilities marketplace: from strategy and planning, to risk and program management, implementation and support services. Laser-Scan's extensive expertise in managing geospatial data and providing market leading applications based on its latest technology, Radius Topology, will bring additional benefits to Optimal Solutions customers.
