Sokkia introduced its new Series030R reflectorless total station models SET1030R3, SET2030R3 and SET3030R3.

The Series030R instruments feature Sokkia’s cutting edge RED-tech EDMs which provide outstanding range, speed and precision in reflectorless distance measuring. Narrow objects, walls, corners and objects with small incident angles such as roads and manhole covers can be measured with pinpoint accuracy via the ultra narrow visible laser. Precise measuring can be carried out through fences and tree branches as well. Accuracy is +/-(3 + 2 ppm x D) mm at a continuous measurement speed of 1.3 seconds.

The reflectorless measuring range of the standard Class 3R laser models extends up to 350 meters (1,140 feet) (with Kodak Gray Card 90% reflective), and the range for a glass prism is up to 5,000 m (16,400 ft). The reflectorless range for Class 2 laser models (factory option) is up to 150 m (490 ft). When the Series030R is in the reflective sheet and prism modes, the RED-tech EDM automatically switches to a lower level laser output (maximum 0.22 mV) that is equivalent to the safer IEC Class 1/FDA, Class I laser.

All models come equipped with Sokkia’s original absolute encoders for higher reliability in measuring angles. Angle accuracy for the SET1030R3 is 1” (0.3 mgon), 2” (0.6 mgon) for the SET2030R3, and 3” (1 mgon) for the SET3030R3.

The preinstalled powerful SDR EXPERT Data Collection Software provides efficiency and versatility so the needs of the professional surveyor can be met in a wide variety of circumstances.

Approximately 8,800 data points can be stored in SDR33 format inside the internal memory. For virtually unlimited data storage capacity, all models are outfitted with Compact Flash memory card units.

Point names and coordinate values can be quickly and easily entered with the fully alphanumeric keyboards on both faces and the SF14 wireless keyboard is also available as an option. A Guide Light Unit is optionally available for facilitation of setting-out operations.
