Spatial Data Technologies Announces Business Partner Agreement with Trimble 08.22.2003

Spatial Data Technologies to integrate Trimble mapping and GIS technology with CartoPac.

Spatial Data Technologies (SDT) announced a business partner agreement with Trimble to develop and integrate SDT products with Trimble’s GeoExplorer CE series and Recon handhelds. In this new relationship, SDT will provide Trimble's rugged handhelds as part of a complete enterprise data management solution for oil and gas, forestry, agriculture, natural resource, and utility clients in the public and private sector.

Spatial Data Technologies specializes in the integration of mobile mapping solutions, and tailoring them for client requirements. SDT’s CartoPac mobile mapping software integrates with Trimble’s GPS handheld receivers. According to SDT’s president, Glenn Vlass, this integration is a “must have” feature in allowing customers to postprocess their GPS data, which is essential for quality decision making.

“The partnership has helped us to deliver Trimble GeoExplorer CE series and Recon handhelds with the CartoPac mobile mapping software,” Vlass said. “This has been a significant, market driven request from our customers. Combine the data integration, customization and graphics performance of CartoPac with the ability to utilize Trimble’s GPS postprocessing capabilities and we have a powerful solution for Mobile GIS applications.”

"We view Spatial Data Technology's high-speed graphics performance, data access and integration, and application customization as a perfect customer solution when teamed with Trimble's rugged, high-quality GPS handhelds," said Dave Goughnour, business partner manager for Trimble.
