XYZworks introduced the XYZworks Fieldbook, a new data collection system on a rugged field handheld PC. The Fieldbook features a color touchscreen viewable in bright sunlight, a full-size sealed 45-key keyboard, standard CF card slot, 64Mb of RAM and 64Mb of Flash memory, rugged serial port and Windows CE.NET 4.2. It is powered with the included rechargeable/swappable NiMH battery or 6 AA batteries. Accompanying the Fieldbook is Fieldworks software, which includes the ability to interface to all popular total stations, robotics and GPS units. The software includes data collection, stakeout, COGO, roading and plotting routines. The Fieldbook weighs 28 oz. and comes with a two-year warranty. (XYZworks, Masonville, Colo.)
