USGS Global Land Information System (GLIS) shutdown by USGS 05.01.2003

On April 30, 2003 the Global Land Information System website (GLIS) will no longer be available. EarthExplorer, which now supports the Macintosh platform, replaces GLIS as the USGS tool for querying and ordering satellite images, aerial photographs, and cartographic products. The following is a list of all collections shown through GLIS and how each will be handled after the April 30th shutdown.

GLIS collections transitioned to EarthExplorer (searching and ordering supported): Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer CORONA Satellite Photography (renamed Declassified Satellite Imagery - 1 in EarthExplorer)
Digital Elevation Model - 15-minute
Digital Elevation Model - 2 arc-second
Digital Elevation Model - 7.5-minute
Digital Line Graph - 1:100,000-scale
