Leica Geosystems Introduces New Survey and Construction Series 06.20.2003

New TPS400 Series total stations ideal for a wide range of construction and surveying applications.

Leica Geosystems announced the introduction of the new TPS400 Series total stations for a wide range of construction and surveying applications.

Based on the highly successful hardware platform of the TPS300 and TPS700 Series, the new TPS400 family offers a powerful, easy-to-use instrument for general construction, simple alignments or complex stake outs, earthmoving, pipe layouts and other civil engineering tasks. Like its predecessors, the TPS400 is designed with Leica Geosystems' legendary high-quality optics, incorporated in a new-design package with improved operating functionality.

A key feature of the new TPS400 series is its large illuminated display and easy-to-learn menu-driven functionality. Four function keys provide for easy, direct operations. Additionally, the TPS400 series has an RS232 output and is compatible with most external data collectors.

The rugged system is splash and dust proof according to IEC529 (IP54), and is designed to withstand the toughest field conditions.

The system is loaded with specialized applications programs to simplify many common tasks, including surveying with coding, stake out, free-station survey, tie distance, reference line, remote height, area computation, target point offset and height transfer. The TPS400 instruments also incorporate Leica's advanced reflectorless laser technology for taking remote observations to inaccessible measuring points, as well as electronic leveling and laser plummet for fast, easy setup.
