Peter F. Costello has joined PBS&J’s national Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) division as a senior ITS analyst within the firm’s advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) practice team.

Costello has a strong background in financial management and marketing analysis, as well as extensive experience in web site design and maintenance. He previously served as ITS America's director of telematics and special projects, where he managed a national consumer market research project, directed international telematics activities and produced an electronic payment systems primer, developed and maintained web site content and planned and organized workshops. Costello also provided input to the 511 Implementation Guidelines and participated in international standardization and harmonization of telematics and ATIS standards.

At PBS&J, Costello is part of the consulting team for the 511 Deployment Coalition and is involved with 511, ATIS, and telematics projects.

Bob McQueen, Vice President and Division Manager of PBS&J’s National ITS Services Division said, “We are honored and delighted that Pete decided to join PBS&J. His qualifications, knowledge, and experience will significantly enhance our traveler information practice and our overall ITS professional services offering.”

“With Pete’s complete knowledge and understanding of the traveler information value chain, which includes data collection, sharing, and fusion, and regarding information dissemination that satisfies consumers, PBS&J will be able to serve our clients more effectively,” says Rick Schuman, manager of traveler information services for PBS&J.

Costello holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from Fairfield University. He is an active member of ITS America and ITS Florida. Based in PBS&J's Chantilly, Virginia office, he can be contacted by telephone at 703.471.7275 or by e-mail at petecostello@pbsj.com.
