July 10, 2004 - Dedication of the Center of Population, Mazon, Illinois by the Northeast Chapter of IPLSA

September, 16 - 18, 2004 The Northeast Chapter of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA) and the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors (WSLS) will be hosting a joint summer meeting at Lake Lawn Lodge in Delavan, Wisconsin, September 16, 17, & 18, 2004. Events scheduled are:

• Thursday, Sept 16th, 10:00am - 18 holes of golf at Lake Lawn Lodge or Trap Shooting and visit to Dog Track.
• Friday, Sept 17th, 8:00am to 3:30pm Seminar "Surveying Cost Analysis For Your Surveying Business", presented by Joseph M. Dolan, PLS, PP of Atlantic City, New Jersey - 6.3 PDHs. Continental breakfast, lunch, breaks included.
• 7:00pm, Banquet at Geneva Lakes Kennel Club
• Saturday, Sept 18th, 8:00am, Continental Breakfast, 9:00am to 11:00am, Symposium "Future Of the Profession." PDHs available.

NSPS Trig-Star Competition

Luiz F. Mendes, a senior at Urbana High School, Urbana, Illinois is the state winner of this year's National Trig-Star Math Contest. Mendes was presented $250.00 from IPLSA and $100.00 from the East Central Chapter of IPLSA, which sponsored the contest in five local high schools with 83 students participating.

New Student Chapter of IPLSA

The IPLSA Board of Directions approved the establishment of a Student Chapter at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. The chapter is part of the East Central Chapter of IPLSA and is coordinated by Todd Horton, Assistant Profession at the college. The Student Chapter becomes the second authorized by IPLSA and joins the Little Egyptian Chapter Student Chapter at SIU-Carbondale.
