Peter Canter joined the Applanix Marine business group as a product manager in Marine Applications. He will be responsible for the development and introduction of new products for the marine market.

Arc Second Inc. announced the appointment of Brian G. Daum as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He will report directly to Edward R. Barrientos, Arc Second’s president and CEO, and will be responsible for overseeing all operational, engineering and financial functions of the company. He will also work with Barrientos to execute the company’s strategic growth initiatives.

Leica Geosystems Inc., Norcross, Ga., named Robby Dudley as vice president of construction sales for North America. Dudley was formerly director of operations and sales for the Ben Meadows Company, a global direct marketing company in the natural resource industry.

LizardTech Inc., Seattle, Wash., appointed Case Kuehn as vice president and chief financial officer. Kuehn will direct the financial planning and resource allocation for LizardTech’s leading image, digital document and server solutions.

Robert B. Stephenson was named Surveyor of the Year 2001 by the New Mexico Professional Surveyors. He will be recognized during the NMPS Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 15, 2002.

GEOD Corporation, Newfoundland, N.J., hired Gary W. Happe, PLS, as vice president of sales. Happe will promote GEOD’s land surveying and photogrammetric mapping services in northeastern states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
